paraboot michaels

My Wallabees are fucked up and I’m incapable of independent thought so I’m gonna transition to Michaels 1. Any alternatives I should be aware of? Any graduating from Wallabees. 2. What is a good price for a used good condition pair. 3. Do they tend to run large or small Thanks

I’ve seen GH Bass wallace mentioned as an alternative, can’t speak to their quality or anything. There’s mixed info on sizing. Paraboot recommends sizing down a half size. True to size ended up being better for me. Honestly your best bet is to try them on if you can (or get a pair that you can exchange) There’s also Padmore & Barnes but those are closer to wallabees

My Michael size is the same as my other GYW size (Red Wing). They’re boxy shoes. My Wallabees are 42EU/UK8/US9 and my Michaels are 41.5/7.5UK/8.5US. You can also look at Kleman Padror or Mephisto Peppo for other Tyrolean shoes but idk if they’re welted or not so they may not have as much longevity. By all accounts, Michaels are tanks.

Hmmm fair I don’t think I care too much about construction since my interest in them will wane in a few years anyways

I think you should go with the Padrors. They have a glued sole but I doubt you’d any any issues with them.

I got a pair of GH Bass 'Ranger' Moc Wallace 2nd hand (think they discontinued them?), and I like them a lot. They are pretty comfy, the leather is lovely, and the construction feels solid. Overall v impressed. And I got them for about £50 in like new condition. So definitely a viable cheaper alternative if you're not looking to splash out the $300 or so for Michael's ☺️
