Everlane

I got recommended by a friend this brand. They quoted it as being "A decent higher end brand that doesn't completely break the bank". Anyone have any thoughts? Particularly on their pants?

I definitely would not call everlane higher end. They were the prototype for fashion greenwashing, as well as the prototype for a kind of minimal millenial marketing and aesthetic that reads as very bland. Even disregarding their questionable history the clothes are not any better than what you’ll find at gap or j crew, they just get away with charging more because they were among the first to figure out how to take advantage of millennials’ egos

I would describe everlane clothes as "fine" and "plain". The radical transparency angle was pretty gimmicky back in the day, but I get the urge to know what goes into something you're spending your money on. Overall, like alot of things on the internet I think it gets maybe 10% more hate than it deserves

I bought a backpack from them in like 2012 and actually still use it but the "leather" drawstring cracked apart and was actually rolled canvas coated in plastic
