How to determine how a watch cap is expected to fit?

Looking to try watch caps that end right at the ears or before it. Aside from trying in store whats a way to determine how a watch cap would fit based on pics? Most website don’t model their watch caps so doesn’t really help

really hard to tell based on pics, fit will vary massively depending on your skull

Looks like a fisherman beanie? They tend to be shorter/finish above the ears. As historical in ports/ships you wanted to hear stuff around you for safety

You can also email and ask about how the beanie fits. Depending on material/weave beanie fit can be dramatically different. My old Inis Meain merino beanie was extremely snug and barely had any give - the Evan Kinori yak beanie I'm looking at now apparently fits almost like it's elasticated
