Is it worth buying tassel loafers if I already own penny loafers? What’s the advantage tassel loafers have over penny loafers?

There's no advantage, it's just a different look. I like having both to have options with different outfits.
penny loafers have storage which makes them objectively superior whereas tassel loafers are frivolous and useless and therefore bad
If you show up to a formal event and forget your bow tie, you can remove the tassels, tie them together, and wear them in front of your neck as a substitute
Penny loafers are easy mode and look good on everyone. Tassel loafers are hard mode and only look good if you have swag
this isn't true! the tassels can be used as a dusting apparatus if you're in a pinch
horsebit loafers come in handy if you ever need to tame a wild stallion
Why do you want tassels and what can they do for you that penny loafers can’t?
There’s not really an “advantage” unless you work in an office with a formal dress code where tassels may be more appropriate than penny loafers. If you want to wear them with more casual stuff, then the difference is just stylistic preference.
