i can use steam to generate the token then close steam and swap the steam_api64.dll with goldberg offline steam emulator

That sounds normal to me; they probably just say "If this other setting is set to DLSS, show these extra settings" (the other option doesn't display DLSS anymore, since it isn't detecting it, but the value's still set)

Your DXVK installation will get weird anyway (with both Heroic and Lutris managing the same files)
Heroic only installs DXVK as long as it detects that it isn't there, so Lutris might just overwrite it

linux reserves 5% of ur hdd for root actions
check if 55GB is 5% of ur hdd's total size
u should think about using a binding to attach a seperate partition to ~/Heroic/ so ur games arent taking up space on ur home partition
(i do the same with download, music (if u have a large collection) and games)
also: look up how to access the S.M.A.R.T. interface for the hdd, to see if it is actually crashing, there's plenty of tutorials about it
