DXVK-NVAPI doesnt install into prefix
When I click install dxvk-nvapi into prefix, the check box line just blinks forever and nothing happens.
In this particular cas its Alan Wake 2. Ive not tried other games since this is a fresh machine.
Did I miss some dependency specifically for nvidia?
I didnt see anything very interesting in the logs, but will have to post them when I have discord set up on this machine haha

DXVK-Nvapi installation (or rather downloading) is borked as far as I can tell. A folder isn't created before trying to extract the archive
I've discovered this today as well, will see if I can get a PR in fixing it before christmas

Ahhh yeah I just got a log for it this try
In the meantime can I just.. Create the folder?
You'd have to create the folder and extract the contents that are supposed to be there into it
If you just create it, Heroic will think it's installed already

Ah ok where does heroic pull it from?

sweet thanks.. it seems to find it and complete just fine now.. but dlss not available in AW still ahha i guess ill go poke around to see why
CommandMC, kind of a follow up to this poking around with DLSS: do you know if it works in Alan Wake II? I cant seem to get it to allow me to enable it.
My assumption is that it wants to use a higher version of DLSS than the combination of nvidia drivers and dxvk-nvapi allows? Control works perfectly fine
I don't own AW2, but I've heard all kinds of reports about it not working, soooo 🤷

yeah i was mostly curious.. i inherited a computer from work that has a 3080 in it, and its been since the 1080 that i've used an nvidia card, so figured i would look around.. best i can tell on dxvk-nvapi github is that DLSS3 implementation is .. slow going heh
its fine tbh, even on the lower settings with fsr, the game looks great, so not like, too torn up haha but still keeps futzing with raytracing stuff out of reach since its quite the hit on that game even with nice hardware

I'm not aware that DLSS shouldn't be working in Alan Wake 2. Besides frame generation that is
But haven't tried myself
Ye i believe upscaling should be working

havent been able to get the game to give me DLSS as an option
same steps work for control though.. so not sure whats up there

Hm. If Nvapi in Heroic is working then it should show it as a option to the left of FSR from what i can tell in online videos
quickest-silverOP•2y ago
do they mention their configs? I wouldnt be surprised if i some how missed something haha

If it's like other games then as long as Nvapi gets loaded and the Nvidia vendor id isn't hidden then i assume it should work. The latter can be done with
DXVK_ENABLE_NVAPI=1
which i can see Heroic sets
Could try to enable nvapi logging and see if it works DXVK_NVAPI_LOG_LEVEL=info
And additionally setting DXVK_NVAPI_LOG_PATH
if you want a separate filecriminal-purple•2y ago
Should just be that ye

quickest-silverOP•2y ago
yeah i did all that x_x
even the logs say that it is there and starts up properly, but the game doesnt recognize it

hmmmm

wonder if a recent patch broke something?
criminal-purple•2y ago
Can you show a screenshot of the settings page
quickest-silverOP•2y ago
sure, but basically you see FSR and then nothing else

had to spoof the driver version since apparenlty game complains about out dated drivers otherwise hah.. granted no impact with it on or off either

which folder should i extract this archive to?
and if
current_dxvk-nvapi
file in prefix has dxvk-nvapi-v0.6.4
in it does it mean that i have it installed correctly?Updating to Heroic 2.12 will resolve this issue
quickest-silverOP•2y ago
You should try latest heroic first
