Go-to options for laptop bags (backpack or briefcase style)?

Remote worker going to first conference and need laptop bag. Preferably on the thinner side. This does not have to be super expensive or made out of leather. Company is overall business casual. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations! Thank you!

I was looking at this bag: https://alpakagear.com/collections/14-macbook/products/elements-tech-brief-14?variant=41376960577698 but I'm not sure I like the bulky shoulder strap. Should have disclosed that this is for a 14 inch laptop

Do you wear a suit or blazer with padded shoulders? That's when I'd wear a messenger bag or brief case. All other times a more professional looking backpack will be better weight wise imo. Bellroy is expensive but worth it. They have a lot of options. Alpaka is fine but can err more to the side of "tacti-cool" as their target market crosses over with the online everyday carry (EDC) communities

Hey thanks for the insight! I wont probably even wear a blazer. Probably looking more like OCBD or similar. I have looked at the Bellroy Totepack, seems like a great option and looks really clean. I have a few other Bellroy products and am very happy with them!

After coming across this Uniqlo bag: https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E459777-000/00?colorDisplayCode=09 I will be giving this a try because of the stellar price point and the functionality between backpack and tote

I'll let you know about the quality when I pick it up this weekend! The backpack/totebag conversion was a really nice feature
