MS surface laptops
they need a custom kernel
oh ok
Which unlike all other custom kernels I've tried, it's actually kept inline with Silverblue and should always just work 🙂
Even the eraser in Xournal works on the pen
just to verify, keyboard and trackpad works in the installation part of the iso?
a friend of mine has a surface and would love if it works seemlessly
yes, we don't have Valve's issue of releasing a pre-release ISO as an install media
its more that some distros even fail at that
no OSK in anaconda
so we fail that
then you would have to plug in external mice and keyboard
but the trackpads work
ah
thats fair enough
so it probably only needs an external keyboard if things have to be configured
yup
I think the new anaconda has an OSK
so hopefully we get that soon
So just to further clarify the type cover works if you have one of those
Maybe we can get it to have it where you set your username and password after the installation just like how it is done on stock silverblue and stock workstation
fine for GNOME, but KDE doesn't have that treatment
and KDE vastly outperforms GNOME across the entire ublue spectrum from a download count perspective
I think there is a way to do that for KDE actually, I've seen a distro done that before and I forgot the name of it. It was a distro based on opensuse and uses KDE and has you set up your username and password after the installation.
found it, its this one https://www.regataos.com/
Get to know the Regata OS operating system
With Regata OS, you'll have a new kind of computer for everything you need and love to do.
