which fabric would you choose for a chore coat, indigo sashiko or olive wool?
I know this is purely subjective, but I might as well ask since I can’t decide. I already have a medium wash Levi’s sherpa trucker, and a black Carhartt WIP Michigan chore coat (that’s like denim or canvas?), so I’m leaning towards the wool, but the sashiko fabric looks really unique too.
Thoughts? And thanks in advance!

Sashiko year round, wool fall and winter only.that being said, sashiko fade too if u into it
Hmm yea that is a good point, I think it would end up looking like my Levi’s jacket after a few washes. I don’t really care that much about the fades tbh, my raw denim looks pretty much the same after a few years
I’ll prob end up getting the olive just bc I don’t own any wool jackets otherwise, was heavily considering getting the sashiko and an olive G9 harrington but this will save me money lol
Indigo sashiko is EXCELLENT. Check out epaulet's jackets.
I have sashiko, linen, and wool. Both a proper chore oriented scratchy wool and a much nicer looking wool. All have their uses.
(Mine are field jackets not chore coat but there's a ton of overlap. Epaulet sells both with the same pattern or what looks like the same pattern)
The Sashiko looks very interesting and would be great year round, depending on where you live. I prefer the wool simply because I love a nice drape in my materials and a clean silhouette. I am not a wrinkly, crinkly fabric kind of guy. Perhaps look into how many blue tops you have in your wardrobe? Don't want to be pigeonholed, imo.
Is the wool unlined? I often find rougher wool fabrics like that to be very annoying to wear without lining
Whereas the sashiko will go on and off your arms/shoulders without a problem
These are actually from Epaulet, I forgot to include that in the post
Thanks for the help y’all, I think I’ll go for the wool one since it’ll expand my variety of jackets a bit more
