Best online vintage marketplaces in Eu/Germany

I want to do more vintage shopping and expand to looking for clothes online. I know of vinted/Sellpy/Momox/Vestaire and of course Ebay are there any brands I'm missing? Also really liked the look of Marrkt but the shipping/import costs make the whole thing less attractive. Generally speaking I would be looking for vintage clothes in the direction military/rugged ivy. Also interested in places selling the mfa brands

Afaik vinted and ebay (kleinanzeigen) are the most popular. With vinted being more likely to have mfa brands. If you're feeling adventurous you can also try the dutch or austrian versions of kleinanzeigen, https://www.marktplaats.nl (I'm sure most dutch people won't mind writing in english or german and shipping to germany) and https://www.willhaben.at. Unfortunately we don't have the same brands as in the US filling these sites so the american searches don't work as well. There is heaps of levi's and ralph lauren stuff everywhere but I don't know (yet) what the german equivalent to something like vintage brooks brother's ocbd's is. There must be something out there though 😄

Yeah thanks, good to have other EU members here. You helped me out with my last search as well. Yeah I was thinking that that must be possible maybe not German brands but France and Italy are both close by and they do have a reputation for clothes

Yeah there's a lot of Italian menswear stuff around, especially on vinted where there seem to be a lot of italian users

Wouldn’t expect marktplaats to really have anything nice on it these days as a Dutchy. Grailed isn’t as good as it’s been but still worth perusing on occasion

I wouldn't go to marktplaats for the kinds of things you find on grailed or vinted, that's true. But if you're lucky/persistent you could find something worth wearing there (I'm dutch too). I mainly mentioned it because so many other (and better) marketplaces were already mentioned 🙂

Marktplaats isn't that bad for sneakers from what I've heard

They definitely aren’t, but I don’t think they have any verification/anti rep measures

Austrian vinted is merged with the Italian one, you can find lots of Italian brands on there.

I didn't know vinted was limited by country

Huh I didn’t know either but it seems to be true. That’s good to know On the dutch vinted I also see italian stuff but on the austrian vinted I don't see all the french or dutch listings you see on the dutch one. The german one has different listings again 😅 (that I don't think show up on the others). When you're logged in you only see the listings for the country you made your account in. I'm curious what determines the selection because I sort of assumed it was at least EU wide

Spain, France, Italy, and the Benelux countries share one Vinted area, and apparently Austria has now been added to that area as well? then UK and Germany are each their own seperate area. An advantage of Germany and the UK being their own 'system' is that shipping is very cheap, whereas shipping can get much more expensive when sending from Spain to the Netherlands. Idk why but whenever I check out UK Vinted prices seem considerably lower than German Vinted; unfortunately shipping has become such a mess after Brexit. It's a pity as they have more brands / clothes that I'm interested in than the German one.

That is truly odd/annoying

In the future this might very well change though. Last year a selected amount of users in France and Germany were able to order from each others country. I think Vinted would like to add the Germans to one common European Vinted, as at the moment many people in Germany still like to pay with Paypal instead of their own payment system.

The Austrian only has Italian listings and none of the others you mentioned above, which is even weirder to me (and I assume on italian vinted they see listings from all other countries) Usually austria and germany are lumped together and it's also almost always cheaper to ship stuff from germany to austria than from italy 🤷‍♂️

perhaps it's one of the trials similar to the german-france one from last year?

Could be the case I suppose

how much are the shipping costs from italy to austria on average? since when does Austria have Vinted? I have a couple of friends in Vienna who'd list their clothes on German Vinted, which made me think that they didn't have it.

Just going to revive this thread and ask here. Do you all know any vintage marketplaces focused on slightly more expensive items. I've found a lot of sites to be filled with h&m

Vestiaire Collective, perhaps? never used it myself though. what vintage marketplace do you prefer so far?

Yeah it looks like that is more of a focus on vestiaire collective and grailed. I've never bought on those either. I usually search for specific brands and check out the other listings of sellers with interesting items. That prevents having to look at all the H&M listings. But looking through a lot of crap to find a gem is also part of second hand shopping if you want to find good deals. If you don't enjoy that you can also look into finding better curated second hand stores instead of marketplaces. You usually pay a bit more there and part of what you pay for is the pre-selection
