What ties to wear with this sport coat?

Just got this sport coat. The color is just right to where I think I can do both spring/summery and fall fits. I’m having a little difficulty figuring out what kind of ties I can do with it. Traditional ties feel too conservative for what is a more casual jacket. As for less traditional ones, like knit or linen, I’m not sure on the colors. Maybe brown? Any suggestions? Thanks. https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/green-seersucker--54300-661678-nsc-01-ss23

Knit would definitely work in a complementary color. Burgundy and navy are the easy ones for olive drab but its honestly an easy color to compliment. I think you can definitely get away with more traditional ties though too. Maybe something with an interesting print on it

Gotcha, thanks for the tips. I have no problem matching color with olive for other items, so I have a feeling I just need to get used to wearing it as a sport coat.

I have an olive linen sport coat I wear pretty regularly in the hotter part of the year. Also S&M. Whoever photographed it for ebay made it look brown much more than olive so it was a bit of a surprise... Anyways I'm trying to think what ties I've worn with it. So the jacket is casual but that doesn't mean you need a casual tie. There's a common strategy in classic menswear: classic shirt + serious jacket + bolder/louder tie -- or -- classic shirt + classic tie + bolder/louder jacket. What I suggest clashes is a bold, saturated blue. Or a bold, saturated red. I don't like those as a combo. Significantly green ties would be odd as well, I'd probably avoid ties with any more than a dot of green. So what does work? Classic ties I think would mostly be fine. Navy, maroon/burgundy, dark purple, brown, dark gray, black (asterisk). Sedate but brighter colors: earths, including rusts and orches; light grays and silvers. Then louder stuff like eggshells and lemons; pinks and purples and oranges. Madder in all manner of desaturated colors is pretty sedate. Multi-paisleys might work, if loud. Also consider other materials than silk. I think I last wore it with a geometric silver / silver-adjacent tie. Fine, if maybe a bit quiet for a "shitbox selfie" day ...

Good to know. So toning it down with a traditional tie is a deliberate strategy Great list; thanks for the write up I can definitely see a lot of combinations with that. Louder or sedate but bright for a solid spring look Rust and ochre could be quite good for an earthier look

Oh yeah I somehow always forget repp/regimental/etc striped ties. Those can work great too.
