What’s the on trend tie width these days?
I figure skinny ties are out, slightly wide but not too wide are in? 3 inches? Not that it’s too important but 2.5 does seem a bit small.

2.5 is p narrow depending on the style
It’s pretty hard to go wrong with 3” - 3.5”
The exception are knit ties which are usually closer to 2.5
Yeah for whatever reason my knit ones don’t feel too skinny despite them being the same size as the ones I do think are too skinny
Gotcha, so a more normal one would be 3 inches or higher
My lapels tend to be 3 inches so that seems like a good one
It’s because knits are the same width all the way up to the knot
Ah yeah that makes sense
Thanks
Tie width proportional to body often ends up at 3-3.5", with 3.5-3.75" not weird in most cases. Under 3 or 4+ looks weird on most people unless their body shape/size makes it look proportional IMO, though with exceptions for specific styles of things. Very much my opinion, but the skinny tie trend is mostly dead today just how the absurdly wide tie trend died like 20 years ago.
That makes sense, with straight fits coming back it’s only natural for skinny ties to go the same way
Even for a slim guy like me a 3 inch looks much better
Thanks for the confirmation
