Having a Different Kind of Top or Bottom With the Same Color?

So I'm currently trying to declutter my wardrobe and restarting it to form a capsule wardrobe. I bought a light blue linen shirt to start out things since I live in a humid country and light blue is the most versatile color in a shirt (from what I know), however, I've read somewhere that the ultimate versatile shirt would be an Oxford light blue one. Now I feel like I bought the wrong shirt...or did I? So I was wondering, should I still go for an Oxford light blue shirt even though I have a light blue linen button-up shirt? Also, anyone here has multiple variations of the same color of a top or bottom (variation could be in the form of material, weave, or if it's a long or short version of a top or bottom)? I kinda feel like there should just be one color of a certain item, hence I'm asking this one.

The most versatile items are the ones you wear. I personally like oxfords but my style lends itself to that type of shirt. I think a linen and oxford shirt are different enough to have them in similar colors if you like them. There’s no reason tho unless you really feel like you want an oxford and would wear it The whole “10 shirts every man MUST own” is all bullshit

Linen shirts are great for warmer weather, and I probably wouldn’t want to wear an Oxford in higher temps - so for me they’re different enough and serve different purposes - not to mention the differences with how the fabric behaves etc But also this x100 - no point just filling your wardrobe with “versatile” stuff that you’re not going to end up wearing.

I feel like it depends on the item. Generally items worn close to the body need to be washed regularly and therfore having more of them just makes more sense

I have a lot of different light blue shirts: chambray, denim, oxford, linen. They all have a different vibe. So no, I don't think you should limit yourself to only one light blue shirt
