iOS Photo Access Rights
I'm currently utilizing the novel Library feature with Immich and I am blown away on how well it works! In the near future I'm only going to use the library feature and won't be uploading images from my mobile devices. For browsing the library I also installed the iOS app on my iPhone. Due to not uploading any assets I wanted to disable the local photo access for the Immich App but then I am not able to start the app.
Ist there some sort of workaround to disable local access for Immich and still use the app?
Thanks in advance!

Not really, you have to allow access to the photos to use the app. This is just to make everything easier to work with. There is no privacy concern in this aspect since the app doesn't send data anywhere
Thanks for the response @Alex my intention was to only view the library timeline in the app without getting my mobile pictures in between
You can create an album and put on asset into it
then select it for back up 🙂
I've actually tried to only let Immich access on Asset but then I get a warning message at every start up and every few minutes that Immich wants to access photos and if I want to change my assets for access :/
But no worries - just a minor inconvenience with a perfect product 🙂
Thanks for your help!
You can allow access to all asset, then in the album selection for backup, you select an album that has one photo in it. That would render that one photo on your timeline as the local asset and all other photos and videos will be coming from the server
