Things I used to believe, but don’t anymore "Dress sneakers" aren't that bad, and can look good. I will only wear clothing that fits me "properly" Wide, high-waisted pants are ridiculous. After being overweight most of my life, I "deserve" to wear skinny clothing.

I was also on the “high-waisted pants are ridiculous” trend. That was probably the biggest eye-opener for me, actually. I have a fairly narrow waist but a little larger hips, and so lower-rise pants would sit around my hips and from general movement throughout the day slide downwards to the point I would have to frequently tug them back up. I kind of just accepted that was the way things fit (either that or wear a belt), but when I tried high-waisted pants and they actually sat in place where I wanted them to sit? Game-changer!
Also: fuck yeah, corduroy!
