11.11 / eleven eleven

Introduced to this brand through Blue in Green, haven't seen much otherwise but some of their pieces seem nice- anyone have experience?

I have a pair of khadi trousers I really like. I sized down to get the right length but you can't tell since they fit oversized Purchased on sale from Matches They make it to Mr P sale too

I have a few of their stuff. Really quality stuff. On their site they have a bigger run of clothing and if you wait around you can get it on sale

I have a lot of shirts from them and love them all. Sizing can be a little confusing but you can email them for measurements and since most of their pieces are made to order, they’re sometimes willing to do custom sleeve and total length. Usually have end of season sales at up to 70% off with ready to ship pieces that are a great way to dip your toes Everything indigo will bleed immensely Everything will shrink lots if you machine wash and dry Tons of handwork, not just in the sewing itself but also a lot of the fabrics are handloomed with handspun cloth Mia (half the design team) lives in NY and goes to lots of trade shows and exhibitions and stuff in the area. This stuff has to be touched to understood A little obsessed with them so feel free to tag with sizing questions and stuff

i have the kantha jacket + pants. Haven't actually had much issues with bleeding and i've washed the pants several times. People love seeing the reverse side of the Kantha stitching. I want a quilt from them

Do you know anywhere in NYC that stocks them?

Kantha is likely to have been washed a few times already to get some of the puckering effect going. My wife really wants one of those quilts too, but you can get similar ones for a looot cheaper from other random Indian stores since the craft itself isn’t that unique and there’s no pattern making that needs to be done. “Jaipuri Kantha” should help get you looking Blue in green keeps a few things. If you sign up to the mailing list there’s a pop up at least once every few months

side note : every time I see ikat print or kalamkaari print at, like fucking 18east or something, I lose my mind at how much they charge

lol yeah it’s kinda nuts how many popular pieces you wouldn’t haven’t been able to pay my high school self to wear. Kardo is a great reasonably priced brand for similar craftwork. And they’re often on deep deep sale. Dune and salt has a bunch on sale right now.

Yeah I find even Kardo to be a bit high priced but it’s reasonable I suppose.

Definitely not cheap, but 50% off sales are easy to find. It’s certainly an upgrade to all the fabindia I used to wear

Fabindia is a rite of passage that we all must go through (assuming you’re a person of Indian origin)
