What kind of suit jacket is this
Loved this suit jacket and it's more casual vibe. Does anyone know what the best search term is to look for smth similar

Looks like a cotton suit with surgeon cuffs
Those are turnback cuffs. Surgeon cuffs are the ones where buttons are functional, which we cannot tell from the photo
Unless @Count0Interrupt you think the guy just unbuttoned the cuffs and turned them back, rather than that being a built in detail of the jacket?
But anyways, it looks like... a fairly soft shoulder, a causal material (Cotton is likely), very obvious "line of nails" pick stitching, modest lapel, and I have no idea if the shoulder actually fits the guy but the photo is not particularly flattering. Jacket appears to be unstructured. Could be a chino blazer in a dusty blue.
thanks
thanks
Also cleared up what the stiching along the lapel is called
Yep. That sort of obvious pick stitching is in style right now, though generally you might prefer something a little more subtle, depending on your taste. Swelled edges are another alternative you may like, though you'd see it more on a navy blazer than a cotton sport coat.
Yeah I should probably pick up a navy blazer before. Just need to find the time/reason/money for it
I mean they could be functional and he just rolled them up
It’s just a chino fabric. Universal works has them but I don’t really like the cut personally. Might work better for your body tho
Mine in olive
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm at first I thought the roll was too crisp to be non-factory, but now I see a gap near the bottom that may imply they are in fact surgeon cuffs rolled up
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well OP, either way. Either surgeon cuffs rolled up, or turnback cuffs.
Turn back just feels odd to me on such a casual jacket when I’ve only ever seen it on dinner or tuxedo jackets.
I don’t actually know if they’re more formal or not, but it feels like they are
I think turnback cuffs are a british thing mostly.
I thinkkkkk they are less formal but who the fuck knows? Well, someone sure does but it's not me
I've seen them I am sure on a blackwatch tartan dinner jacket, but I know I have seen them on normal jackets too, suits and sport coats.
Bruce Boyer has a story about when he was getting his first saville row jacket, he asked if it should have turnback cuffs and the tailor said that would be "rather studied."
Which personally I tend to agree with. Just like a brand new jacket that has elbow patches -- I find that in most cases to be, well if I were British, I'd say "studied."
Yeah, thought it was rolled back—my eyes aren’t as good as yours.
I think I have the exact blazer in the picture lol
It's taupe cotton from original penguin
Dope. Tell us about the cuffs
Unfinished
As in, no buttons?
Yea one sec
Like it has to be the same one

That does look near identical
I guess if it has unfinished cuffs then we were both wrong :P
Gonna try drop a "rather studied" in normal conversation now
