Just bought monthly sub. I had trial and cant seem to install regular licence...everytime I click it takes me to page and I nsert my email...get an email but then thats where it stops?!thanks

yeah so then I go to web page type my email...reveive email on my management status but thats it it still doent work
I am pretty sure you are using an old version of Dash and that is the problem

Im testing various features out- I noticed that the physics icon doesnt activate all the time and seems to have timed out...had to restart engine to make it work...is this a bug fix?
hmm, you mean it is not visible at all, or not clickable?
not clickable...I click on it and tried all sorts of things but would not work...
did you try to close and open just Dash?
yes also...the only solution was restart editor

It might be that you alt-tabbed/minimzed Unreal(it's a bug we have at the moment) and then the Dash toolbar is half-responsive, what you could/should do is close the Dash toolbar and reopen it by clicking the icon.

You could also select objects in the scene to trigger an update of the toolbar, physics should be there always tho
@adsix7 Did this happen multiple times, so you needed to restart UE multiple times?
If yes, could you try to record the situation the next time it happens?
And also check the UE output log when trying to click on the physics icon.

heres another thing on traversing the mesh...I selct it it goes at the beginning of the curve but it shows none and I acnt use the parameters...
What rock are you using? For me it works fine, once I set the stone as the "Mesh" it stays there
yeah redid it and it works fine now...wierd...some referesh issues..I will test everything again tmr when Irestart pc and see if any ofthis happens again...otherwise it could be just my end...

I have a question...is there a way to rotate the normal so the Ivy attaches in a way that appear to be falling rather than sticking out...couldnt find this anywhere?
Also I did have that issue with the physics tab again...what I did to screw it up was to ppress play then I pressed complex and it stopped...I deleted the ball and restarted Dash with a new ball in the vieport but wouldnt play....
Regarding the ivy, I assume you used Surface Scatter? If you open the full tool, there is some rotation properties and also some that is called align I think (I ain't at my PC so can't check right now), but can you check if that helps you?
Any errors in the output log when you click play?
And is is same if you close physics and maybe even Dash and try physics with another object?

How can I select the surface scatter options menu of an existing scattered selection..
Does any of the other buttons work in physics? And what happens if you drop an object from Content Library with CTRL and choosing physics?
it works if I drop a new object from Cl with Ctrl
but only for that mesh
Open the quick floating settings bar of your scatter by clicking the tool icon in Dash after you select the scatter. Then open full tool by clicking the vertical dots on the right side
That's good at least. So you can close physics for that new object and then re open and it still works?
no if I drag this new mesh from the editor into the viewport it doesnt work...

Did you drop that with physics first from our Content Library?
yes fro the content library pressing ctrl it worked...then I dleted it...and then I dragged from content browser back into vieport

question: when u freeze an instance is it more optimized or does it make no difference? Is there another way to bake the sims to optimize?
The physics tab is great but the problem is there...when u press complex it disengages from the mesh
It makes much difference, as the scatter wont change before you unfreeze. But maybe you mean for when the scene is done? Then it does not matter as we only create native UE things.

Im still testing it out before I use it so I would like to make sure I understand everything....Im seeing that if I turn the assets into a Packed level actor it bakes the sims..but will test more

For performance of using the level afterwards, there is no need to bake anything. But we also have a bake tool, if you have any other reason to bake them π
So I tried with bringing in a rock from the Content Browser and enabling Complex in our Physics, and it seemed to work well. Is there anything in this video I did differently from you maybe?

also having some trouble increasing the density of the decals....and also controling the density from the center....so it feels when I use the distance it spreads them from the collison point but I can seem to get a nice overlay of this decal where the two meet...if Im making myself clear!
regarding the physics, what happens if you after pressing complex press the dynamic button? Or trying the duplicate button? When the physics is started that is
it works but only for the new instances...the initial mesh doesnt
if you have the initial one selected and press dynamic, nothing happens?
And also try, have it selected, then press, Simple and then Dynamic
it works when I press set dynamic...after I press simple though the stop play icon stays on stop...it works but if I press complkex again it stops
and when I pressed dynamic it begaun to spin!
That is more or less the idea, if you hover over the Complex button after pressing it, you see that it makes the selected object static = it will not move. So it is more useful if you for example have the complex object down at the surface and then drop one or many object on top of it, the Complex setting determines how the objects that are being dropped will react to the Complex object
So for objects to fall, they need to be Simple and Dynamic, I hope this helps
I think I get but I thought that after looking at your tutorial that complex simply changed the collisions from simple to complex...or maybe I wasnt paying attention....!

Ye when the phsyics is running, it shows stop, do you mean you can't press it and stop it?, Please show another video if so
well when I press it it remains on stop it doesnt toggle between play and stop...even though it works
oh, that's weird, probably just a simple UI bug, if you use the close button on the right and then re-open physics, any better?
Or close Dash all together and re-open it

regarding the decal question you posted above, what I think you need to do is:
1. Uncheck the Keep Inside box, this scatters them inside of the object you have as Object Mask and most of the times this is not needed
2. and then you can also increase the Max count, it is just below the Density parameter
3. and play with Max count, Density and Distance in Object masking, hopefully that will give you the result you are after

Yes! Ctrl+Shift + middle mouse button
it is shown in the middle of the shortcut guide, but not super clear
