Wearing new clothes for first time in years, need advice

Due to focusing at work and lack of social life, I didnt care how I looked like and have been using the same 3 shirts and 2 pants for past 4 years (hybrid mode of work) I have purchased these recently since I plan to finally start meeting people again next month. I was thinking of the white tshirt with grey overshirt and black jeans as one outfit. Do you also think this is suitable for dates? But I'm honestly a bit unsure on how to use the brown/biege tshirt. Can it pair with something effectively? I personally like solid colors/not too bright colors. Please advise. My budget is about 100-120$, but I like formal/semi formal looking clothes. (Nothing baggy/flashy) TIA

I would feel comfortable combining all of these items with each other. They are perfectly nice, inoffensive clothes and will be suitable for dates or a office setting where people aren't wearing suits. Have you taken a look at the guides in #fashion-guides? There are a lot of tips to get started with finding your style there. When you have a more concrete idea of what you want to dress like it'll be easier to figure out what clothes you would like to get.

Thanks for the feedback, I have not gone through that yet - I will do so and update here Hi, I went through some of those articles and they were pretty helpful. I'm primarily thinking of some layer on top the brown/beige shirt aside from the grey one here Was trying to picture some sort of a black jacket/overshirt on it but I just feel something would look off, or do you think it's fine? or stick with this grey overshirt even on that? On a secondary note, also looked through the channel and it mentioned about blazers, I do not have any blazers in my wardrobe. Do they have to be paired with polo/formal shirts? Can there be some sort of a mix of it's formal looking-ness with any of above? I'm just a fan of formal looking clothing though I may not have most of it outside of solid color shirts and pants now.

If you want to get a jacket or sports coat, you could get one that works better with jeans and less formal shirts such as OCBDs, flannel or chambray shirts. For example a tweed jacket or something. Personally, I don't really like the look of t-shirts with jackets. Read this: https://putthison.com/how-to-wear-sport-coats-with-jeans-styleforum-had/

How to Wear Sport Coats with Jeans
StyleForum had a good thread recently about how to wear sport coats with jeans. For some, the combination is so...

tee shirt with jacket is a high-low suit play imo for sure a shirt w/o a collar or one without the right structure (like a polo) is tough and I generally just think it doesn't work v well

You can match the brown t-shirt with the grey overshirt or with a black one if you want. It's a fairly neutral color so it will look good with a lot of things. I agree that a blazer with t-shirt usually doesn't work very well. If you want to expand into more formal clothing I would start with looking at wearing collared shirts (with buttons, not polo's) instead of t-shirts. You can dress those up and down quite easily and if you enjoy them you can add a blazer later.

I havent worn one in that color so unsure
