Metadata from IOS photos missing?

Setup: iPhone 14 Pro iOS 17.0.3 IMMICH 1.82 (for both) Created an iOS Album with pictures in it named -IMMICH_TEST Issue: Is it normal to not have metadata from the pictures on my phone (not uploaded through IMMICH app)? All external scanned files seem to show proper metadata, but the other ones in my iPhone library do not. Question: Can anyone explain why the IMMICH app is not reading the metadata for the photos already present in my phone? Is this a permissions issue? Additional information: I am not using IMMICH to upload files because it creates duplicates of the files that already exist in the scanned library, and also because the app screen goes to sleep before completion and starts over from 0 for large video files (5GB). Instead, I am using Resilio Sync, which does an excellent and fast job. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps: Rebooted my phone Uninstalled and reinstalled the IMMICH app Granted IMMICH all permissions Checked for updates to both the IMMICH app and iOS Thank you

Hello, if the file is not uploaded to Immich, the metadata isn't extracted correctly What is your usecase?

Hello, Yes my files are not uploaded through IMMICH, but Id like the ability to see the metadata included in the photos of my iPhone regardless. For example, in Google Photos, I don't use their back up functionally but i'm still able to check some metadata information from within the Google Photos app of the photos in my device. I try to check permissions for IMMICH but its already in "Full Access"
