DNS issue
Hi
I'm trying to migrate a client old website to Railway but I got stuck on the DNS verification part. The domain name (lahotel.se) is in one.com and I updated the CNAME as specified in the documentation but every time I go to lahotel.se i'm redirected to https://wordpress-production-cc66.up.railway.app/
I would like the domain name to still be lahotel.se but point to railway app.
What is it I'm missing with my setup?

I don't think one.com supports root level CNAMEs, you'd have to do it through a cloudflare nameserver
you can read more about it here: https://docs.railway.app/deploy/exposing-your-app
ok thank you
no problem :)
I set up everything with cloudflare nameserver but I still have the same issue, when i visit lahotel.se i get redirect to https://wordpress-production-cc66.up.railway.app/ , am i missing somethig
the redirect has nothing to do with railway or your domain setup, this is wordpress redirecting you, i got these headers
you likely have something misconfigured with wordpress
Thank you for the quick response, i will check in my code
just want to note that if you are hosting this site for an actual hotel you would want to be on the pro plan, this doesnt really fit a hobby usecase anymore
i'm waiting for the client to sign up now
I had to migrate there site quickly so i just did the hobby for now
no worries
thank you for the help
first time using your platform and its been awesome expirence
its not my platform lol, i dont work for railway
Ok, so this is community help channel?

of course!
Hi, I've got the CNAME Record as '@' mapped to the custom domain provided by Railway.
it is added and the root domain is mapped to railway app but it is stuck at "Issuing TLS certificate" and it is not issuing the SSL certificate.
Also, how do i get www also mapped to the railway app?
Please help
What hosting service are you using?
you mean DNS hosting?
yea i mean that
domain service
it says - Your DNS hosting provider is "Directi Internet Solutions Pvt Ltd"
yea i've never heard of that, probably doesn't support root level cnames, just read what was said in this thread since you have the same issue
CNAME is mapped and root domain is propogating to the railway app.. Railway is not issuing the SSL certificate
i mean website is functional .. CNAME mapping id reflecting but SSL is an issue
do i have to add some extra CNAME for getting SSL?
like the wildcard documentation says..
Ensure that the CNAME record for authorize.railwaydns.net is not proxied by your provider (eg: Cloudflare). This is required for the verification process to work.
Wildcards can be used for any subdomain level (eg: *.yourdomain.com or *.subdomain.yourdomain.com).
In order to use Wildcard Domains, you must add two CNAME records, one for the wildcard domain, and one for the _acme-challenge. The _acme-challenge CNAME is required for Railway to issue the SSL Certificate for your domain.
https://docs.railway.app/deploy/exposing-your-app#wildcard-domains
