did you set this on purpose?
"targetExe": "/home/silviux/sdb2/HeroicLauncher/TheEvilWithin/EvilWithin.exe",, remove that from the game's settings in heroic

in general, try wine-ge outside steam first, try proton-ge if wine-ge doesn't work or if you get better performance for any reason

borderlands 3, it wont save without proton.. and i forget the other, not this game
in all cases wine-ge is the preferred .. there are only a couple edge cases wher eit doesnt pan out ime

When use wine-ge i feel when i launch the game is native one

same for me, death stranding works, but I know proton does some things different than wine to handle DXVK and VKD3D so maybe that's why wine-ge doesn't work that good for you
