LOTR: Return to Moria - Microsoft visual C++ Error
First time using Heroic Launcher, and not really familiar with linux gaming either.
Trying to install and play LOTR:Return to Moria on steamdeck.
Have Heroic installed and installed LOTR. When i try to run the game i get an error that says it requires Microsoft Visual C++.
Do i need to install this manually on the side? I thought this is something wine/proton emulates?

Try this:
- click on the game's settings in heroic
- winetricks
- select default prefix > continue
- install a dll or component > continue
- search for vcrun2022 in the list, check it > continue
- after it's done, close all the windows
do this in desktop mode, always start testing games in desktop mode in case some window has to popup

I did this fix too but now I just have a white screen in game. Did I do something wrong?

Yeah i have a white screen too with gimli talking. Kinda just gave up for now

It worked for me using Wine-De 8-4. It does not work on the newer versions.

I've had some luck with newer versions with "Use steam runtime" enabled.

So i ran into all these issues when trying to get Return to Moria working. This is how i fixed all the Issues. In the setting for the game, i have Proton - Proton - GE latest selected, Auto install/update DXVK-NVAPI on Prefix, Select Winetricks>default wineprefix>install windows dll or component>vcrun2022, Other Settings make sure to select Steam Runtime.

I can't seem to install vcrun2022 via winetricks. It fails with "warning: exit status 5 - user selected 'Cancel'"
