eli5 VSF and VSF Integrations please
As a self taught aspiring developer it is easy to progress to a certain point while missing many related concepts along the way. Like building a multiplication app and not knowing where to start with a division app. A perpetual noob.
I have learnt vue, tailwind and firebase. Only enough to make the few web apps and websites I wanted to make. Now I am on my journey to make my first ecommerce store.
So I stumbled on VSF. It seems great. Its made with tailwind. Okay i can understand that.
But it doesnt have any firebase tutorials. Why I ask myself? I guess because the 'firebase equivalents' that it connects to are databases with preconfigured tables with categories and products etc. Because its made for shopping. Okay makes sense. Shopify is familiar.
But now it seems I have to pay for shopify. So I check out another. Sylius, magento, medusa. I look for any VSF integrations with tutorials. But now its getting even more confusing.
Prestashop seems like a database that you download and run on your machine. And this medusa tutorial has (https://medusajs.hashnode.dev/how-i-created-an-ecommerce-store-with-vue-storefront-ui-and-medusa) you running 3 three different things.
So I am about to install docker so the VSF CLI can install magento 2 locally and I just thought; What is docker? What exactly is magento 2. And if I install magento2 locally how I will I host it? I never installed firebase locally.
Am i thinking along the correct lines conceptually? Are there any other analogies or ways of understanding the overall structure.
I also have the VSF-nuxt3-boilerplate dowloaded. Should I just attempt to connect this to something instead of using the CLI?
Okay thanks for reading.
