Cyberpunk 2077 (GOG) does open but is in a very very small window, that can't be increased in size
I currently try to get gog cyberpunk 2077 up and running with hgl with nvidea 3080 mobile gpu. Cyberpunk starts but it is in a very small window that i can barely see it on screen the music plays but i couldn't find any solution to it on how to increase my window size without navigating to the settings in cyberpunk, which i cant reach at that window size. Is this a problem anyone knows a fix for? I am running ArchLinux with KDE plasma (Wayland) and have my nvidea drivers up to date.

Is there a folder i can copy them from in the launcher or do i need to find them in the game directory?

Faq tells what to do
continuing-cyan•2y ago
read the link, it explains
lol yea
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
"launcherArgs": "VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11,dxr RADV_PERFTEST=rt %command% "
That's not how those workcontinuing-cyan•2y ago
disable DXVKNVAPI, but leave DXVK on
"useSteamRuntime": true,
That also isn't the best idea
Aaaand you won't need PRIME here eithercontinuing-cyan•2y ago
too fast for me lol
rare-sapphire•2y ago
This log is basically ProtonDB
continuing-cyan•2y ago
in what way? like all the changes are coming from there?
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
currently i have WineGE selected is this what i want to use?
continuing-cyan•2y ago
yes
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Nonsense things passed to game or at least attempted to do pass into
continuing-cyan•2y ago
it is really hit or miss there, yeah
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Like, radv perftest on NV
🐸
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
Do i have to put smth into game arguments?
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Also
dxr
is an alias now that also enables 1.1 toocontinuing-cyan•2y ago
nah
rare-sapphire•2y ago
No
It should just work with disabling prime, unticking steam runtime
continuing-cyan•2y ago
if it doesn't, post a new log
Removing the launcher args here might also be necessary
Not sure if CDPR's launcher is smart enough to just ignore those
rare-sapphire•2y ago
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11,dxr RADV_PERFTEST=rt %command%Remove those, ye %command% , clearly copy pasted from protondb 🐸
Y'know, part of me wishes ProtonDB just wouldn't accept reports on non-Steam games
continuing-cyan•2y ago
i don't even know what %command% does
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
I did try a few things but i dont know what to do 🙂
They kind of already do (by not listing games not available on Steam at all), but then also don't (by allowing reports that clearly state that the Steam version of a game is not used)
continuing-cyan•2y ago
all good, we all start somewhere
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Even Steam based reports are nonsense mostly, true way is searching Proton tracker itself
Tells Steam to add the text before at the start of its launch command (instead of at the end)
Normally the option in Steam is intended to be used like the option in Heroic: Everything you put into it is added at the end. But since Steam lacks env vars & wrapper settings (and they figured that'd probably go over the average user's head), they made that same text input serve 3 functions
continuing-cyan•2y ago
ah
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
Does it make any difference if i start cyberpunk from steam or from hgl directly?
continuing-cyan•2y ago
no, it shouldn't
as long as you don't have compatability mode on inside of steam
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Use from HGL first, don't add any other variables ( in that case Steam ) into pot before you verify it works
Even for Deck imo that is the way
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
I should give you the new log file so you can see if i made any mistakes by trying to follow your instructions
That does sound like a plan
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
because it still only does soundand a absurdly small window
continuing-cyan•2y ago
after launching, post a new log. new logs are always good
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
what about VK3D ? should i check that box?
Yes
continuing-cyan•2y ago
leave everything else the same, just make the changes we suggested
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Unless told otherwise you should always keep them on
Steam Runtime's still on
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
steam runtime is still true
continuing-cyan•2y ago
Nvidia Prime still needs to be turned off
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
but there was no checkbox to uncheck
how do i do that?
Oh right, you're using Wine-GE now
Steam RT won't do anything then
continuing-cyan•2y ago

continuing-cyan•2y ago
it's odd that it's labeled so drastically different in the log vs the UI
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
okay i disabled it
continuing-cyan•2y ago
did you turn off steam runtime as well?
^
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Try again but your previous log was showing vkd3d basically blew up and it was on NV anyways
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
hm weird
continuing-cyan•2y ago
ooooh, gotcha
"enableFsync": false,
turn that back on
Something is indeed amiss in those logs
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Fsync missing won't lead to vkd3d errors i think
continuing-cyan•2y ago
no, but if there's noise about it in the logs then it would be nice to cut them out
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Your post says you're on Wayland tho, can you try with X? Nv is not exactly best with it so if there is some window operation goes wrong that might explain why things blows
Well for Esync/Fsync, the safer option would be to turn them off, not on
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
i'll turn em off
continuing-cyan•2y ago
okay, you know better 🙂
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Game works fine with them, just played couple days ago with them enabled ( Steam copy so enabled by default )
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
So these should be the right settings i could switch to X11 real quick?
continuing-cyan•2y ago
yes
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
Nice X11 fixed everything it directly launched into fullscreen
rare-sapphire•2y ago
:CatYeah:
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
thank you very much for helping me out 🙂
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Enable esync/fsync again
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
Never played games on linux before
i'll do
continuing-cyan•2y ago
it's an experience for sure
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
I heard that wayland is generally better for gaming i guess this isn't true in every case
usually i use x11
rare-sapphire•2y ago
It is ok on AMD mostly, not on NV
continuing-cyan•2y ago
it depends on a lot of factors, i use it for everything i can get away with and i'm on nvidia
rare-sapphire•2y ago
I use Kde Wayland with Rdna 3, stuff works fine
Including VRR
Wayland's fine, the combination of Wayland + Wine + Nvidia Optimus may cause issues though
continuing-cyan•2y ago
most™️ of my games work just fine on wayland
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
I usually use KDE X11 but i tried Wayland out after using it on my other Laptop with hyprland.
fascinating-indigo•2y ago
gog version of red launcher is headless so... no need for additional arguments nevertheless
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
The commands from proton what are they for and where do i have to put them?
continuing-cyan•2y ago
what do you mean?
if it's working then you don't have to do anything with proton
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
the commands from protondb i used in the wrong way
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Other- Env variables
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr
For getting RT exposed
Enable nvapi in settings of Heroic too
To have DLSS support
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
DLSS would be nice where do i have to put the commands into?
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Read the message above
Game settings page has all
As described
continuing-cyan•2y ago
this part specifically
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
so i need to activate DXVK-NVAPI
fascinating-indigo•2y ago
and that
rare-sapphire•2y ago
Yes
fascinating-indigoOP•2y ago
alright tanks
