Clarification on Monthly $5 Credit for New Accounts
I recently joined Railway and am enjoying exploring its features. I came across the information on the pricing page that mentions a one-time $5 credit for new trial account users, as well as a waiver for the monthly subscription fee for the Hobby Plan for some active developers on the platform.
However, when I checked the plans page on my account, it states "Includes $5 of usage monthly." I am now unsure if the $5 credit is a one-time offer or a monthly benefit.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could clarify this for me. Has anyone else experienced this or have more information regarding the monthly $5 credit?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

With the subscription-based service, you’ll pay $5 monthly to use the service in addition to any usage accumulated over $5.
For example, if you accumulate $2, you still pay $5, if you accumulate $5, you still pay $5, if you accumulate $7, you’ll then pay $7 and so forth.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the clarification!
Based on what you’ve explained and my understanding of Railway’s documentation, it appears that I am not exempt from the subscription fee for the Hobby plan. The documentation states, "If you qualify, you will be notified in the Dashboard or when you upgrade to the Hobby plan." Since I have not received any such notification, it suggests that I would need to pay for the Hobby plan.
Additionally, the $5 mentioned seems to be a one-time trial grant rather than a recurring monthly credit.
Thank you for helping me understand this better!
you are correct in assuming that your account doesn’t qualify for the waived fee, that only applies to accounts who joined the hobby plan before Aug 1st.
The 5$ included usage each month is refreshed each month
