Mordhau crashing

I haven't installed anything apart from wine and heroic, and I'm not sure what I've done wrong here (or if I should do something to get it to work)

the log file is too big Sorry, no I do have the flat version. I should've mentioned that. I installed wine before to run something else and it has nothing to do with heroic.

Where can I upload the log file? I tried pastebin but it just becomes unresponsive (the page) 85mbs would sending the last 1000 lines be enough? yep though I do see an error

you could try turning off DXVK NVAPI and only that setting and seeing if that improves anything for you

alright I'll give it a try where can I find that setting? Looked around and found a checkbox called "Auto Install/Update DXVK-NVAPI on Prefix"

in your prefix setting also, send the most recent log, i bet that one will be smaller

you never want to leave the prefix folder on default, make sure that it's on the name of the game when installing stuff in future

Maybe try to use protonup-qt and install proton proton rather than wine-proton? Of course, after you test out what RawToast said

that didn't work for me last time I tried. I had to delete the prefix and just opened winecfg to create the prefix it was borked when I didn't open winecfg (I didn't do anything w/ it, I just opened it and closed it)

erm it's kinda a thing where it's a virtual form of display. You can them force games to run with FSR and whatnot messing around with the compositor for games

okay, look. protondb is a great resource for most things, but i'm hesitant to try most things on it since there is so much misinformation feel free to try it out, try it with the most recent proton version, delete the prefix but take this with a grain of salt and don't believe everything you read on there

most of the "advice" there is misinformation telling people to turn off settings that are needed or turn on settings that are actively wrong. they also tell people to run with commands that are convoluted at best and wrong syntax in the most funny cases that is really great to hear! this is an exception to the "always use wine" rule got it

oh I wasn't talking about the commands, I was more talking about the versions of wine and even with some confis which reduce perfomance, a game with worse performance is better than a game which doesn't want to launch
