Jamieson's Shetlands sizing
What's your experience with sizing in Jamieson's Shetlands? The consensus seems to be that you need to size up, but looking at the measurements on End I'm not so sure. I'm looking at a particular piece where the chest measures 56 cm if I size up. My chest is 50 and most of my sweaters are about 52-53, which admittedly fit me -comfortably- tight, so maybe I just need to embrace the loose tide? Anyway, I'd like to be as sure as possible before I order as a return would be out of the question.

Size up, ask me how I know
I originally ordered an XL thinking that 23.5" P2P would be fine for me as a ~44" chest. Had to return and replace with an XXL
Do you usually wear an XL? I usually wear an M and I'm looking at an L, but am concerned that may not be enough.
Hard to say tbh. Some things I would get are L, some XL. I am wearing a cardigan today that is an L but it isn't Jamieson's
My best advice would be to measure a sweater you have that fits your well and compare those measurements to the size chart for the Jamieson's
@SquillyFerrell
End up sizes on their website so you don’t have to, I buy a 44 usually which is actually a jamiesons 46
Generally I would always check the garment measurements since they can usually tell you what size you’re looking at, since jamiesons is pretty consistent in having all their pieces sized the same
Measurements are the answer, but fwiw I wear M in most things, and my Jamieson’s L cardigan is a pretty “normal” fit, ie. I could size up to XL for a relaxed fit but wouldn’t size down.
Yeah I bought an L but had to go for an XXL because it was tight. Ideally I'd be between XL/XXL but had to go with the relaxed fit
I found the End measurements essential. I wear S and M in sweaters usually but my latest Jamieson was a 42, which End called L, and it fits me quite well.
Just to confirm what Squilly said above, I bought my Jamieson's from END in size XXL but the Jamieson's tag size on the sweater is XXXL
Yes definitely size up. I got an M and its a bit tight.
