Railway Usage
I’m currently on the free plan and I seem to be burning through the usage and my site isn’t even at peak usage. I was planning on buying pro but I am still concerned about that fact thst I will burn through my usage rate too quickly.
Do you guys have any advice on how to lessen my usage right or make it go down slower without affecting performance (I am using cloudflsre csn and the primary things that are being used are CPU and Egress

but its very low usage as i shut it down for a bit so this is not a reliable estimate
when did you sign up on the trial plan?
i believe november 7th (i created my acc then) and i hosted it on railway as soon as i joined
and how much credit do you have left?
4.16 dollars
at this current rate i believe the pro plan may be suitable but as the site gets more traffic i dont believe it will be enough and i dont want to spend more money if possible
thats less than a dollar for 3 days, for a node app, i dont see any issues with that

but wont my usage rates go up a ton as i get more traffic as my traffic right now is extremely minimal

of course, but unless you have written extremely inefficient code, i would not say that your usage would "go up a ton"
just get the hobby plan, you dont need the pro plan
isnt usage rate determined by the amount of hours spent on the site or smthing
or the features used
so logically wouldnt the usage rates increase proportionelty the more ppl use the site?
railway charges for resource usage, not visitors or anything like that, but still resource usage would of course increase with more users, generally i wouldn’t say its proportal by any means

do you have any advice on things that could decrease my egress usage?theres not a whole lot you can do about egress, but to eliminate egress costs on your database service, make sure you connect to it using the private url (if you even are using a database)
alr - for cpu what r things i should avoid doing though
