Attempting to set up Moonlite, will not load.

I have installed the Flatpack of Moonlight via the Discover app. When attempting to launch this application it will pop up the app in the bottom bar for a split second then close. Below are the specs of the laptop that I installed the Nvidia variant of Bazzite:

I have Sunshine installed on my Gaming PC and only accessing via local wireless so that I may game in the livingroom. Alternatively I have installed the appimage version of Moonlight and this does load however I can only get sound and input to work. i.e. I hear Big Picture Load up sounds and if I'm in the same room (during troubleshooting), mouse and keyboard inputs on the laptop will show on the Gaming Rig. No video will pass though even though the Gaming rig has only 1 monitor @1080 resolution.
Attempted resolutions for the appimage version: - Clean registry of old monitor profiles and re-setup the single monitor as the 00 monitor. - Attempted to set up the Monitor Swap Script. This does fire but then defaults to the monitors default resolution of 4k. - Attempted setup of resolution script both with and without monitor swap script. Screen maintains a black image. I would prefer to use flatpak version of moonlight as updating will be integrated. However I would be extremely happy for video transmission help if getting flatpack to work is not possible. Gaming Rig Specs: MSI x570 unity 32G of 3600 DDR Ram Gigabyte 2070S NVME drives for gaming & primary drive Windows 11 Steam Streaming does work for many games (not all, ie RDR2 will not stream). it is slow and flickers at best. Would prefer to get moonlight running if at all possible.

@WarrenGoff been ages (literally a decade almost) since i used nvidia, so the path might have changed, but i believe you need the flatpak nvidia runtime that matches the nvidia driver version installed on the system cat /proc/driver/nvidia/version to get the driver version (its the set of numbers after Module) then you need to install the flatpak runtime flatpak install org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nvidia-5XX-YY-ZZ NOTE: see how version number in flatpak uses - instead of dots after that i believe moonlight might work

Thank you, i will try that. I tried the install flatpak runtime but the system stated it was already installed. I even removed moonlight and reinstalled via command line without luck. I do not know how to use distrobox. I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestions so far. if anyone else has suggestions i will try them.

Try Sunshine instead:
flatpak install --system --noninteractive flathub dev.lizardbyte.app.Sunshine
flatpak run --command=additional-install.sh app/dev.lizardbyte.app.Sunshine/x86_64/stable
flatpak install --system --noninteractive flathub dev.lizardbyte.app.Sunshine
flatpak run --command=additional-install.sh app/dev.lizardbyte.app.Sunshine/x86_64/stable

sunshine is the host, moonlight is the client

Oh. I had thought at one point Moonlight was also capable of hosting

no they have a forwarding tool that helps you with port forwarding, other than that they link you to geforce experience and sunshine 😛

i have, used moonlight since 2015, 2016? something like that. and i run a sunshine server in the basement and have since loki was the dev of the project. sunshine has some fun keyboard mapping issues when you have a norwegian keyboard 😅 some keys are just randomly assigned to other keys, some even cross the whole keyboard. kinda funny

I do have sunshine installed on the Host computer. Moonlight on the Bazzite install. Still no luck but still looking into it.

Have you tried running the flatpak directly from cli? i.e. flatpak run .... there could be some useful console output indicating what exactly is crashing when you start moonlight
