is there a way to enable cloud/sync saves through heroic?
I want to be able to continue my games from one device to another. (steam deck to macbook, to PC, vice versa, etc.) If yes, how do we do this?

If the game supports cloud saves, you can configure it in the game settings

I don’t want to create an account with each and every individual publisher to use their own servers to do cross save hence why I asked my question in the first place.

For Epic/GOG/Amazon titles, you need an account to own games to begin with

i dont think you understand what command mc told you..
if you bought your game on epic, and the game supports epic's cloud saves, you can sync those saves across each device you've logged your epic account into on heroic
but it requires you to have an epic account (which you should if you've bought the game on epic game store.. seems pretty impossible to not have an account but have an egs library :P)

Yes. I don’t have epic. And gog does support cloud saves. But you’re saying it has to be a game, hence my original posts with not wanting to create individual accounts within publishers. If I can get steam cloud saves for my games, and gog can do that, too, then how do I enabled my gog games through heroic. I don’t want this conversation to be able epic because that’s different company with their own thing from gog and Amazon (since they require their own troubleshooting).

I know how cloud saves work. And I can manage that with their own launchers or make an account with the game publishers (like I mentioned twice earlier) to do cloud saves. What I don’t know is how you all are dealing with it cloud saves with this app. So, before I touch anything, I want to know what you all know

cloud saves work with wine based games.. they work by downloading the latest save from the epic or gog save servers when you start the game or hit the sync button
when you are done with the game and exit, it will upload your saves to the save server, either automatically (you have that check box set) or you hit the sync button with upload selected
however, the game must support cloud sync with epic or gog (depending on what store the game is from)

if the game does its own saves through an account or something like that, it usually does not have cloud save features with epic gog etc.. and it sup to the game to properly do the save sync not heroic

i would first, set the drop down to upload, and press sync, then go to another device with the game and set the drop down to download and press sync
then try to play with your save on that device
if that works, then i'd set the auto sync
and i would back up my save first

heroic is not perfect, is something we do for free and not everything heroic supports is in our control cause we depend on third party solutions, and we are always trying to improve

Would you mind if I share here for minute about my experience getting help from the devs here at Heroic? We can move to another chat thread for privacy. I don't think anyone else should be reading this thread moving forward. I think that would be helpful moving forward as I use discord and for the devs to hear it for their side as well. Just to be clear, I am happy that Heroic exists and the work being done is noticed and appreciated. Keep up the great work everyone. Also, this thread is closed.
