I just want to record my PS3 games, but I always get an HDCP warnign from my Avermedia Live Gamer Duo Why the hell is this still a thing after all those years? If I disable HDCP in the Avermedia RECentral it just shows a solid black. Is there a simple solution to this? im just in the menu

HDCP is always going to be a problem. I know people have used splitters and such before to bypass HDCP, but I haven't personally tried any of them. There's probably a bunch of YouTube videos and articles out there recommended ways to bypass it Basically, blame the movie industry and copyright laws as they currently stand for Sony's poor behavior The other way is to use component to HDMI adapters

what a pain in the ass. I thought there would be a way after maybe 10+ years maybe some program on github or something arent HDMI splitters decreasing the brightness of the signal? can component carry 1080p?

1) Not as far as I know and 2) yes If brightness were to somehow go down, you can compensate for it in OBS and your TV
