Duffel coat - polyamide
I see that Gloverall duffel coats usually contain some polyamide besides wool. Interestingly, vintage ones contain even a bit more (25%) than the new models (10%). I guess it’s not for cost reduction or it were the other way around. Is it for added durability?
I also saw some old Loden coats containing a similar ratio of polyamide, which was surprising to me.
Is it not a smart thing to always prefer 100% wool in coats?

I think it’s to improve durability and water resistance
Polyamide is nylon, for reference
really depends on the brand, cheap ones use synthetics to cut costs, reputable ones use them for their properties
100% wool is still good
