Apex Legends crashing with Steam

Many reports on ProtonDB involve the use of steamtinkerlaunch, in particular setting custom Protons and the use of startup commands. However, the menus of steamtinkerlaunch confuse me and I don't know how to set startup commands or custom protons using steamtinkerlaunch.

need info: what are you trying to do? where are you getting instructions from? what game? etc.

I'm trying to get Apex Legends to work on my computer. Right now, the game closes as soon as I try to get past the title screen. This website: https://www.protondb.com/app/1172470 has a list of instructions that I've been trying to follow but don't know how, such as this:
How well does Apex Legends work on Linux and the Steam Deck?
Game information for Proton, Linux, Steam Deck, and SteamOS

that command in your screenshot is not related to steamtinkerlaunch at all and those aren't even needed those are just personal preferences to enable FSR or MangoHud neither of them will prevent your game from crashing couple of things to try: verify your files. ensure that you have the Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime installed

Got it. One second. Hm. Verified my files and I've got Proton EasyAntiCheatRuntime installed But now it won't even get past the loading screen before it crashes Managed to get things working by using someone's suggested launch options and setting the Steam Proton to 8.0-4
