Perpetual Summer: Rugged Americana/Workwear?
Not a big fan of the prep look as that is usually the suggested when looking for inspiration. I currently live in Florida, so it is hot and humid 90% of the year.
I’m brand new to fashion and really like the Americana/workwear style. The only issue I see is the pairing of jackets and similar clothing items meant for the fall/winter.
Are there any inspirations or recommendations that y’all have?
Currently rocking 502 (blue and khaki) Levi jeans with some boots and black/white crewneck t shirt.
Short suggestions and just inspirations in general would be much appreciated

Maybe some gorpy hiking inspo could work?
Looking for something a bit more rugged. Or if you have an example, again pretty new so I might be confusing it with something else.
What kinda era do you like?
Something modern but also like these pictures. I really like Jeremy Allen Whites vibe on The Bear, if only it could be translated into summer.
A work vibe suggestion would also be appreciated
Linen needs to be your new best friend for hot weather
Gotcha. Any inspo?
hot weather version of t-shirt, jeans, and boots would be something like tank top / t-shirt, lightweight jeans / jean shorts, and bluchers/derbies or blucher mocs. Linen is great but linen pants don't really read Americana/workwear to me
I agree with the linen pants part. Do you have any suggestions for an office setting work wear? I still rock what I currently wear in the office. Just looking for more inspo/ideas.
heavily depends on what is and isn't good to wear with your office culture. are shorts ok? sneakers?
or are you more looking for business casual, collared shirts, that kind of stuff
I’d say other than shorts and tank tops. Everything goes
hmm ok I'd start with the Basic Wardrobe 7 in #fashion-guides
see what you do and don't like in there

Not really. I’m a big fan of that rugged/manual labor look
I’ll take some time to go through the guide.
ok for summer shirts you can do lightweight chambrays, twills, etc
rugged materials do tend to be heavier in weight which makes them wear warmer, not exactly the best thing for hot weather
I think you can definitely work linen and lightweight stuff into outfits like that though
Thanks for all the advice. Can I ask you a final question? What type of footwear would you recommend that is closest to what I’m looking for while integrating the linen?
blucher mocs are good for rugged americana in the summer

Yeah I wasn't really thinking linen pants, but shirts like these maybe?
Chest pockets and camp collars and such
yeah agreed, linen shirts can def work in a wardrobe like that
Could even go westernwear vibe as well with the western style shirts
I'm in a similar boat with not really wanting to go for an ivy look. I use a lot of old 30's 40's 50's 60's hunting pics as inspo because I don't wanna gorpcore either
Dark, earthy colored button downs in heathered or brushed cotton with the chest pockets a lot
With jeans and cowboy boots
Also canvas pants and just a small amount of milsurp too
I also use a lot of 30's to 60's western as inspo too
Depending on where you are in FL that may work
A lot of this sounds like another language to me but I’ll do my research. I think I’m going for something similar as well.
Y’all are fantastic
Thoughts on the Levi’s 502?
Just got two pairs the other day, medium washed and khaki
tapered jeans are kinda off trend but if you don't care about that I'm sure they're fine
Dang
Removed the tags already.
Shit like this, the darker colored stuff
These look so good. Outside of my budget, but they look phenomenal.
They do a pre-order once per year or so where they go for significantly less, if time isn't a factor
For something this beautiful, I can wait. Do you know when that usually happens?
