DNS Issue

hey not sure if this is the correct channel, i have a question about creating the A dns record for the IPv4 address i try and put the unraid server address but there is an error? guess im not meant to use that address?

If you are making a DNS record with a private IP address then you need to make sure you aren’t creating the record proxied (orange cloud)

thanks ill give it a go and see what changes when i used my public IP i got this erro and when i used the unraid server IP i got this error

Yeah private IPs can’t proxied so you’ll need to make the DNS record grey cloud. If you want the public IP to work then you need to make your server available to the internet probably with port forwarding.

what address would i port forward?

It would be to the private address of your unraid server. Though I’d highly recommend looking into tunnels because they offer a good way route traffic instead of needing to port forward

You need both the cnames to be grey clouds

You need to wait to for the DNS cache to expire. Can be like 5 to 10 minutes depending on your DNS servers

ah okay could it have anything to do with nginex proxy manager configs?

Unless nginx proxy manager is hooked into Cloudflare then no. You aren’t reaching nginx yet with the errors you’re seeing
