revamping wardrobe as college student

hello, I’m still trying to figure out my style but I tend to thrift a lot of clothing and so far I’m not sure how to pair clothes together such as sweater vests or workwear jackets. I also was hoping to gain insight on what color combinations would look good on my skin tone. I have added a picture for reference. Let me know if there are any unique pieces I should look for. Moreover, if there are any watches or jewelry that would suit me

Hi! I'm new here, but I'm a veteran thrifter! In my opinion, a trustworthy tailor is indispensable when thrifting, it makes it possible to get that jacket with sleeves a bit too long, or a pair of pants that need the crotch brought up, etc. etc. What kinds of styles/reference points are you interested in?

I like old money, I tend to look for items that accent or highlight my clothing Just wondering what to get next time I thrift or general suggestions for what to wear as a college student

Button-downs, scarves and ties are always easy to come by in my experience. If you're into old money, chinos (these will almost certainly have to be tailored) are plentiful, as are polos and quarter-zips. As far as putting together outfits goes, I try to pick clothes that go together thematically. So, a khaki jacket with lace up boots and raw denim, or a sweater vest with a solid color button-down shirt and corduroy pants, or chinos and a prep cardigan. On unique items...well, it's always going to be a challenge to go to the thrift store with one specific idea in mind. I'm a sport-coat-aholic, so I'm always ready to snap one up (if the shoulders fit well I buy, tailor can fix the rest). My thrifting motto is "always have money ready to spend and always be ready to leave without spending anything". sometimes I strike gold and sometimes I strike out.
