NVIDIA drivers issues, regarding gaming on the NVIDIA 535 drivers

So I tried using the terminal to update my drivers to 535, attempting to fix my performance issues regarding The Outer Wilds: Spacer's Edition. I'm running Proton-GE 25 with the game, it seemed to have worked, but got stuck in a load/crash loop, and I have no idea why and the logs just said to close something display related. I then tried to downgrade to NVIDIA-525, and now I'm missing NVIDIA optimus on my laptop (the GUI options)
