bazzite-deck black screen with blinking _ after reboot

After fresh installing bazzite-deck to a Dell Wyse 5070 with a Pentium Silver J5005 and UHD 605 graphics, the machine consistently boots to a black screen with flashing underscore. I'm able to switch to plasma successfully but game mode results in the same black screen each time. Intel graphics are listed as supported but I noticed there are other issues open for intel graphics with no solution...
