Support for south america

Hey, I'm using Neon for some production services and we're reducing our database costs by 80% 🙂 We are very happy to have chosen Neon as our postgres cloud provider. However, I am missing an option to host databases in South America (Brazil, São Paulo), I would ask you to consider this if possible. Also, I would like to know if I am alone in this desire.

Hey! Just to give my two cents, as a South American business, support for Neon in SA São Paulo would definitely be the tipping point for us to adopt neon in our new projects, the product is great but database latency without a close-by server would be prohibitive. The SA market could really benefit of a cost effective database solution, as cloud costs are a big issue for most businesses here

Hey - could the PolyScale integration help with this? https://neon.tech/docs/guides/polyscale-integration

Hey @Mike J! While global cache solutions like PolyScale and Cloudflare's Hyperdrive do indeed make the latency much less of an issue for public facing "read heavy" applications, its still not ideal to have the main region at the other side of the world from most of your users.. For globally scaling a product with a worldwide user distribution, an edge cache layer can indeed be an amazing complement for distributed systems, but im not convinced it can replace keeping your master instance local to your most active regions.

I'm currently using PlanetScale solely due to the region; I'm not willing to sacrifice latency/UX over the underlying RDBMS, although I would prefer Postgres.

@Mike J PolyScale has been discontinued, is there any other option? https://www.polyscale.ai/future/

I'm leaning towards Turso but want to move to Neon. We just hit production, and PlanetScale pricing needs to be revised for us to move forward. I don't care about paying for an excellent service with great integrations, but PlanetScale is lacking in several areas.

@alansikora @patrickalima98, we'll share more soon. Cloudflare Hyperdrive is worth a look: https://neon.tech/blog/build-and-deploy-global-serverless-nuxt-ssr-app-with-cloudflare-hyperdrive-and-postgres
