Does Steam alter user document location?

Hello, I finally got some time to play my Witcher 2. I have noticed a strange behavior. In order to play the game with Steam controller, I have to run it via Steam (added via heroi to Steam). When I launch the game via Steam, I can't import the savegame from W1 (looked into prefix and saw that documents are symlinked to their user folder equivalent, so I put the W1 folder there. But when I start the game via Heroic without steam, it does see the savegame and I am able to load it: (shot one - Steam - unable to load save, shot two - no steam - load save)

that's weird, because steam shouldn't do anything in that case, just execute the heroic command with those arguments, it shouldn't interfere with the documents location I know there's a bug in heroic right now that it can fail to detect when a game is added to steam and add it again (will be fixed in the next release) oen thing you can try is to check the game logs in heroic after you run the game with and without steam to see if there's anything different
