Recommendations for chinos/trousers?
Looking for some recommendations for chinos/trousers. Hoping to find something that can be dressed up and down (business casual for work to a smarter casual look).
I used to frequent the J. Crew 484 Slim Chinos but they're too tight around the thighs and seat for me now.
I bought a pair of Uniqlo chinos and they've been my favorite pants so far. But before I buy other colors, figured I should see if anybody's got other recommendations.
For reference: I wear a 34x30 in most pants.

Pants are going to comedown to fit. Will say I had success with LuluLemon's Commish and Banana's Movement, these are pretty standard MFA suggestions and I agree with the quality and fit, YMMV.

Skip the lulus and banana Republic chinos
Get some Polo Andrew pants from eBay for like $20, they're pleated and fit nicer than anything Banana and J Crew offer (except for maybe the giant fit chinos, which, cut is fine but overpriced unless they're on deep discount)
Or get some chinos from Bronson for a nice vintage style high rise straight leg
Also, plenty of pants options that aren't chinos

Measure a pair of pants that fit you, across the waist
I think I wear 33 in J. Crew and 34 in PRL
And pants that fit me measure 17 across the waist when laid flat
A good eBay listing will show the measurements, with a ruler laid over the garment.
Don't trust the label, because pants can be altered (hemmed, taken in)
They make good stuff, materials and manufacturing are good but made in China with likely cheap labor. Lots of people on mfa like their stuff

i think there's supposed to be some boutique shop a 30 min drive from me that carries them
They aren’t easy to find. I got mine from No man walks alone. I love how they have the crease down the front of the leg.
saw that site as well. yeah the findability is going to be rough. and I'm trying to avoid ordering online and needing to return them haha
