Connection to Namecheap Domain
I have been struggling to connect my domain. In Namecheap, I’ve set to the following values
Type: CNAME Record
Host: @
Value: --------.up.railway.app. TTL: 5 min Waited for several days but Railway would continue to say “Issuing TLS Certificate.” Tried to switch host value to www and www.digitalsky.app but that resulted in “Waiting for DNS Update.” Please let me know what I may have missed. I have one domain connected from Google Domains where the host name is www.thedomainname.com

Could you try removing the custom domain from Railway and the DNS records from Namecheap, then add it back again?

Could you try removing the custom domain from Railway and the DNS records from Namecheap, then add it back again?
should i enter my domain to railway as www.digitalsky.app or just digitalsky.app? For this attempt ive put www.digi--- , and the railway instructions now ask to put www as host, so thats what ive done
I'd recommend doing
digitalsky.app
and if you want to make www.digitalsky.app work then you can add a CNAME record that points to digitalsky.app from host www
although it's entirely up to youok it just worked so im gonna leave it. Thank you very much for your help

wait nevermind, it turns out digitalsky.app works only after you first search www.digitalsky.app - should i do your way?

so to be clear, i did "digitalsky.app" in railway
in namecheap i did CNAME, www, -value-, Automatic TTL, is that all fine
digitalsky.app in railway, @ - <railways cname> in namecheap
www.digitalsky.app in railway, www - <railways cname> in namecheapok ill try that
under digitalsky.app it says "Issuing TLS Certificate"
under www.digitalsky.app it says setup complete.
I get "This site can’t be reached" when clicking either

I'm not sure if namecheap supports root cnames
haha I figured after several days that they would have hit their retry limit

searching digitalsky.app now results in this
www.digitalsky.app is ok
what do the domains in railway say
actually now im not sure - when i click directly from railway that happens but when i search it directly its fine
but I remember last time it seemed once a device accessed it with www it worked but if searching first time without www it didnt
ill try other devices

could deleting and reupping the whole project work?

disable dnssec on namecheap, remove domains from railway, remove domains from namecheap, add the domains back to railway, add the domains back to namecheap
