BYeah you can map trim buttons in the configurater and it would work by simply sending position input.

Atypically all warbirds (and some jets) have trim operation force done natively, telemffb is open source so technically you can make the stick shake when you get ghosted on tinder
S@Red Magic It seems you are looking for very realistic FFB representation like many of us would like to have. Unfortunately we are not there yet at least not with DCS. The ingame FFB is made for the old weak FFB sticks like MSFFB2. What that means is that for example in P-51 you get completely loose stick on the runway and stiffening forces during takeoff but the maximun stiffness happens already at around 200mph as the old sticks didn’t have enough force to emulate stiffening forces any further. My understanding is that to have more realistic FFB there would need to be access to better telemetry data from DCS and then make the feedback profile and effects almost completely with telemFFB. Then we could have all the effects you (and many others) are looking for (realistic spin effects for pedals and stick etc).
SBut you seem to have good knowledge what kind of effects and forces there should be so I think you can help the guys to develop telemFFB further.
RI think SRS is able to access in-cockpit animations and read/control them. A lot of flight envelope stuff can be probably well-enough inferred through a program just reading the cockpit
RProgramming is not something I'm anywhere approachable to though beyond digging around Luas and changing values that were already there
SI don’t have any idea about programming either. I just have high hopes and some vague idea of how an aircraft should feel like. I think there is a bunch of talented guys doing the programming but it is good to also have someone telling what kind of forces / feel the pilot feels through the stick so these things could be programmed.
DI wanna use my VP force base inverted as it is better suited to my seating, but how do I mount my Warthog joystick correctly then? ( do I need to invert adapter on base or something?
YI believe that you can loose them two screws and you can twist connector but im not 100% sure

I've been busy over the past couple weeks working out how to write a proper plugin for X-Plane that exports the necessary telemetry for FFB generation.
%95+ of the TelemFFB code is just re-use of the MSFS effects module, but leveraging the telemetry my plugin is generating from X-Plane.
Anyone is welcome to test it out, but I would ask that you put it through its paces and provide feedback (comparative to MSFS behavior) and be prepared to help troubleshoot issues with iterative testing and/or updates.

MTrim effects work correctly in IL-2 and DCS, meaning it moves the stick on aircraft where it should move, and doesn't move on aircraft where it shouldn't. The exception are aircraft from Razbam, they messed it up.
Overall the aircraft in DCS developed by ED follow the approach that FFB only transmits the effects coming from the control system, and nothing else. So no cockpit shakes, rumble, buffeting, esp. not on aircraft with hydraulic boosters. There is some in WWII aircraft. 3rd parties are free to implement additional FFB effects and sometimes they do. Like Heatblur or Deka.
In IL-2 there are additional rumble and shake effects out of the box. Sometimes even extras like a bobweight in Spit MkV.

BSo as far as best practices for config of aircraft that support force trim... should I set up the configurator with Force Trim enabled, using the same buttons as those I use to trim the aircraft in DCS? Or should I leave those all disabled in the configurator and just let the sim handle everything?
BI let the sim handle it all if it can.
BYeah, I had it enabled in the configurator as well as in DCS flying the P51 yesterday, and it felt like it was over-trimming on the slightest button press.
Mdon't mix the two trim options together, or you'll get 2x trim

SIts so wierd how all the different compaies work in different parts of the world. I have had very little issue with ups, the delivery dates are accurate and they haven't yet delivered to the wrong address. Yet FedEx is always inaccurate and they're the ones that delivered my steam deck to the neighbors next door (Luckily they're good people so it wasn't an issue). PI feel for you- try FEDEX in New Zealand. they jsut hand the parcel over to our rural delivery ( cause I live 272m) from the boundary of the city... and then I get to wait another 3-4 days with no tracking and the fedex site saying that its been delivered..FFS - so I now have to ensure I place a hold at the airport depot and go pick it up myself ( a 6 min car ride to fedex) at least I get it earlier rather than wondering where my expensive stuff is.
