I have a dual PC setup and these are my current settings. When I try to stream on YT and Kick, my YT stream starts lagging. Same thing happens when I stream on YT and try to record at the same time.

Lagging in what way? Include an obs log But regardless, you’re streaming and recording on the most intense settings for your encoder (p6/p7 are the slowest presets) so the first step would be to back those down

YT stream kept freezing up. Im going to try to stream in P5 tomorrow and see how that goes. Any specific section youre looking for from the logs? @//addie I was using the rtmp plugin to kick when I started the stream. Everything was working fine for first few mins until YT started the lag, so I turned off Kick and YT went back to normal. When I tried to run Kick again, it wouldnt connect, so I have a lot of errors on that in the logs.

Just the whole log

Reposting what I said in Naaacker's discord here: You'll want to drop the preset to P5, P6 and P7 start using more GPU resources without a lot of gain You may also want to switch to streaming NVENC HEVC to YT and recording with it as well, it's more bitrate efficient meaning that you don't have to push as high of a bitrate to get the same quality as NVENC H.264 And you can lower the preset further to like P4 and it'll still look better than H.264 with a higher preset For HEVC recording you can raise the CQP value to like 18 as well The only downside is that depending on what video editing program you use, you may have to transcode the recording to a more compatible format like H.264 after recording I typically go to look at the OBS log analyzer to find any common problems: https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer These are the outputs for your two logs https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer?log_url=https%3A%2F%2Fobsproject.com%2Flogs%2FYtJqtYRuO8ZQW5At#logURL https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer?log_url=https%3A%2F%2Fobsproject.com%2Flogs%2F3YDi4fuAm6kkaqBf#logURL Based on those results: - Switch to either fragmented MP4 or fragmented MOV for recording, otherwise regular MP4 recordings could be fully lost if OBS or the PC crash - Do not use Game Capture and Display Capture sources in the same scene, it causes issues - Lower your CPU usage. The "audio bufferring" error is typically because of high CPU usage and also usually indicates other performance issues - If you're on Win10, turn off Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) and run OBS as admin. If you're on Win11, do the opposite (HAGS on, run OBS not as admin) - Idk the settings you're using to stream to Kick but it should have the same max allowed bitrate as Twitch which is 8Mbps. Otherwise use the same settings I suggested you do for YT streaming

Also for context the hardware you're using in the 2nd PC is an R9 5950X and RTX 3080ti Base & output res of 1440p60 You should also probably switch the downscale filter from lanzcos to bicub. IT doesn't improve anything in a noticeable way and uses more resources

I updated my settings, let me try it out later tonight and see how its performing. TY @hunter_ap I tried streaming and recording again at the same time, but YT stream still freezes or lags whenever I record and after stopping the recording, YT stream goes back to normal. I used to have it working fine 2-3 months ago, but I cant get back to that correct settings again.

I played around w the presets, but no luck :/ @hello, it's me (HunterAP)
EposVox // Addie
you're still on P6 for recording bump it to P1/P2 also turn off psycho for recording

(also use fragmented MOV instead of MKV, not a performance thing but MKV is annoying with timecodes and editor compatability)

But isn’t that going to be worse quality? I played around from p5 to p7 for recording to see if the stream delays but no difference.

GG @SY, you just advanced to level 2 !
EposVox // Addie
Not for recording with a CQP value, no. You will notice no difference
HunterAP
HunterAP5mo ago
CQP 18 is high quality enough that you won't really notice a difference in what preset you use And if you do notice a quality difference then just lower the CQP value 1 point at a time

Alright I’ll test it out over this weekend
EposVox // Addie
the CQ values determine the quality the presets determine the efficiency of bits per quality so it would take a negligible amount more bitrate to get the same CQ level at P1 vs P7 (for high quality recording) in exchange for way faster performance

Thank you. This seems to be working smoothly. I also tried to multi stream with Kick using the rtmp plugin but it doesn’t connect. How can I multi stream on Youtube using full form and also short form? I tried it with vertical plugin and hit live, but didnt see anything on YT. Only my main stream was running.
