Asetting framerates game to game is fine. I don't mind it
ABut having smooth frametimes no matter what would be massive for me
AI emulate games a lot on my deck
Aand especially on the oled retroarch straight up has godawful frametimes if you don't set the refresh rate to 60hz
Alike it noticeably feels bad
AWell avoid legion go then. Because steam only supports the SD displays properly
AThe only reason ally works is because we trick it to think it's an external display + vrr
AThat's a smart workaround
AThe sliders are broken, the display works properly
AI won't even touch the refresh rate slider on ally

AYou can use an override both on the ally and go to run at 60
ABut you need to reboot to change it properly
AOr you can enable the slider and pray it doesn't stop in the middle
AI know on windows you can't get the full power unless you're plugged in

AI'm hoping by that time the wifi driver issue on deck OLED is fixed too. My dock doesn't have an ethernet port so I'm unable to install currently
CI believe the issue is that when you go back from sleep, the controls don't work, at least not correctly, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you just have to touch the screen or something and it will come back alive

AEvery device I've put Linux on has had unique challenges but it's always been fun to learn how to mitigate issues
AYeah it's a simple kernel patch to fix too that is part of Linux 6.7
