Guidi
The gateway into spending thousands on single piece of footwear.
PROS:
- Indestructible. Extremely consistent build quality from my experience, though previous models had size consistency issues. Feedback seems to be that this is relatively been hammered out edit: zips sometimes have issues tho
- Object dyeing is a unique process so every pair comes out a little bit different. Especially on non-black and non-white/cream pairs, the colours that are produced are beautiful. There's a tendency to be quite experimental with colours and I think this produces some cool results.
- Leather quality is obviously very good. This is an instance where you very much are paying a premium for a more premium material.
- Shape, personally I love the shape. I think the high shaft on the PL2 and 788z produce a nice stacking effect. Very few other brands successfully do this, again testament to leather quality.
CONS:
- Obviously price. This isn't going to be accessible to everyone. There are cheaper routes to take. @itssafearchives usually has good stock, and they're very reputable. Sale season also runs deep on Guidi on ssense.
- You're going to hard pivot from whatever you were focused on into Yohji and shit. You're fucked.

They’re so cool! That price though.
Not to start with hating, but I have heard the design of the backzip make them prone to zipper blowout
that's definitely a point of weakness, i've had my pl2's blow the front zip out, but this is after a lot of wear.
Wish they had a lil more arch support but love my pairs
whats higher than a grail? cuz last conspiracy are my grails and they are guidi knockoffs
Doesn’t Guidi supply to a lot of other makers? Then they ended up making their own stuff
Love Guidi, M.A+ and CCP but they all squarely fit in things I like the look of, not something I wanna fully commit to
Guidi's have been on my wishlist for a long time and some day I'm going to buckle down and buy them. After poor experiences sizing for shoes used, and concerns of spotting fakes, I've accepted that buying from a store would make me feel better, however it seems that most retailers near me carry their more far out models while I really just want some basic black back zips
Some day!
Look for ones with zipper blowout. Lots of people think they’re done for but its a cheap fix, got mine for under $400 cause a guy thought they were dead
The donkey leather is thicker than normal I think
Why zip when stretchy leather sock?
Any of you guys have had issues with their black leather bleeding on everything it touches? I’ve got the issue with a bag and it hasn’t gone away even after creaming and rubbing it quite a lot. Wondering if there is a foolproof fix that won’t ruin the leather or lure me into a false sense of safety and getting my things stained again 🙄
Pretty much just my socks, i store them and a black leather bag in the little white care tote and nothing seems to have rubbed off without contact to a sweaty foot.
Yours might have had extra juice added
Object dye be wonky sometimes
