S2: Silent Storm will install and boot correctly but only once.
Good morning, I recently decided to try S2: Silent Storm again on Heroic but I have run into a strange problem. I can install and boot the game the first time with no problems at all, however, when I try and start the game again it attempts to boot - I can see the S2 logo and a small black square, but then it stops running.
This has consistently happened irregardless of which version of Wine I am using. When I reinstall the game, it will work again for that single boot.
Any help would be appreciated, kind regards Supernaut.

Aye! That's as far as I got too really, I'm not very knowledgable about wine though.
I'm going to try it on Lutris and see if I get the same issue.

try redownloading the Wine-GE and delete the wine prefix
/home/matt/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/S2 Silent Storm Gold Edition

Thanks for the help Linguin, unfortunately I run into the same problem after deleting the prefix and trying system libraries
It will boot, create prefix, run game fine the first time
Then throws the same error as above on starting again
Same issue happens on Lutris too, very weird.

another thing you may try is to disable DXVK and VKD3D
then it will use OpenGL renderer
