Tips for selling clothes?

AS the title suggests, I'm looking to sell some clothes. I recently got into fashion and got some items. Unfortunately the fit of some was just not there, so I'm looking to resell those. I'm mainly concerned about how to sell clothes, rather than where (like Ebay). In your experience, what has helped you sell clothes you no longer want?

Its really dependent on what it is/what brand it is. Some clothes just wont sell at all no matter how good of a job you do listing them. Important things to consider for something like an eBay listing are good well lit photos, photos of any flaws, measurements either in the photos, written in the description or both, and an SEO friendly title. Lots of other factors at play but I'd say those are the most important. If youre having trouble selling online you can bring them to a buy/sell/trade store like crossroads or buffalo exchange although again its really dependent on the piece whether or not theyll take it.

I see. Most of this is easy to understand. Although, I'm not sure what would make a title SEO? I usually just have the title be the brand, type of clothing and sometimes color/size

Try to make the title of the listing read like something someone would actually type in while still making sure youre using all the most important keywords. For example, "J. Crew Blue Button Up Chambray Shirt" is better than "Chambray Shirt Blue Button Up J. Crew" if that makes sense.

Ah yes I take your point. I'm not sure if it would make a difference for different search engines, but I'll defenitely keep it in mind anyways!

It is definitely hit or miss, but if an item has more cache you'll have more luck online. Local stores like casey mentioned are good for some items, and I've had more success offloading random mall brands items that wouldn't sell well online (from BR, Gap, etc). FB Marketplace is also another option that removes any middleman, and can be good for really random items. Cheaper prices tend to move faster, not surprisingly.

Best way to sell something is to list it for not a lot of money. When folks have trouble moving something 9/10 times it’s bc they need to drop the price.

^ That's a big one. Don't price the listing beyond its reasonable market price Also, clear pictures in good lighting and measurements help a lot

Measurements are crucial. I ignore so many items I’m interested in because the seller didn’t include them. A lot of sellers don’t even realize how important including the actual waist measurement is on pants - a 32 can be anything from 31” to 35”.

yea this is very true! People dont even mention the fit like wide-leg or slim-fit. From unfortunate experience, I'm now gonna ask for thigh width and leg opening length as well...
