Random black screens when playing

Hello, I am currently facing an issue where at random moments during gameplay, my screen just goes completely black for a second or two before continuing on, it seems like while its black that my game freezes.

This issue only has shown up in tmodloader and I have searched everywhere for a fix but cannot for the life of me see any, it 100% is not a specs problem as I have a:
i7-12700K
RTX 3080ti
32GB RAM

Please can someone point me in the right direction as I seriously don't know what to do and its causing serious frustration.

I would also like to point out that I had the cmd prompt open on my other monitor during this to see if anything popped up when this problem occured but nothing did

hm, not really sure what is going on. I'm seeing some errors from calamity about an error when editing calamity related ui elements. I don't know what those are, but you might be accidentally clicking on them?

There is a lot of messages about the game resizing the window, but I assume that is you going in and out of fullscreen mode

The last time it happened I was mining stone underground near a boulder and it killed me because of it

but the frequency of when it appears is pretty random but frequently enough to be really annoying to deal with

ill give DDU a run and see if its something with a graphics driver, not entirely sure it will fix it but its worth a shot

yeah, in the FAQ are instructions for running in Vulkan or opengl, might change something if you want to try

just ran it for around 10 mins after the DDU and it was okay, will be able to fully verify if that fixed the problem tomorrow in case any similar issues show up in the future

So I think I have fixed the problem, turns out it wasnt even game related but it was caused by a setting on my monitor, it was a "smart HDR" setting, even tho I had HDR off it was set to desktop and that was causing my whole monitor to randomly black out, didnt happen in any game until tmodloader so took me a while to figure it out but its fixed now
